Introductory Classes

Please call ahead to let us know you are coming!  It helps us be better prepared!

By appointment: Thursday nights 6-8pm or Sunday afternoon

Cost: $5.00 an hour plus supplies

  We can gauge interest and possibly get one started!

Flower Power Afghan

This Afghan can be made with your worsted weight scraps from around the house, or designate a color pattern.  Stitches used are basic crochet stitches, a couple of decreases, and your creativity!  The pattern will be provided in steps as we progress there it. You will be learning crochet chart symbols and stitches.

Supply List:

  • Size F crochet hook

  • Color 1 -68g

  • Color 2- 86g

  • Color 3- 133g

  • Color 4- 175g

  • Color 5- 273g

  • Main Color- 800g

    • If you would like to use scraps, I recommend 15 different colors (735g), plus main color. 

  • Locking stitch markers

  • Tapestry needle

Class date: Saturdays starting September 14th at 10 a.m. thru the end of November

Class cost: $10 per class to the instructor, Bev Bakkum.

  • You will be working at your own pace. Saturday’s that you are working but not starting a new step will not have a cost. 

Crochet Mondays

This will be a weekly gathering to come and learn new crochet stitches and create some beautiful (and functional) pieces.  Each project will be beginner friendly and will be worked on throughout the month.  If you are a seasoned crocheter or wanting to learn, come in and join the fun!

  • Will vary with each project - consult an employee or the Blue Heron Knittery Facebook page for the current project!

    • All materials bought at the Blue Heron Knittery for this class are 10% off!

Class date: Mondays from 3:30 - 4:45 p.m. starting November 4th, 2019

Class cost: $5/project payable to the instructor, Kelly Sattler.
